Dulwich Health’s very own new product VitTech Vitamin B12 1000 mcg (1000 µg) will help to convert energy into the body and to the functioning of your nervous system. The vitamin is important for normal breakdown of homocysteine in the blood. Homocysteine is an amino acid that increases the risk of circulatory problems if not rectified.

In addition, vitamin B12 influences the body’s cell division and contributes to normal red blood cell formation, helps convert energy into the body, contributes to reduced fatigue.

Vegetarians and vegans may be in deficit.

Usage1 tablet daily with a meal.

Deficiency of B12 is also known as Folate Deficiency Anaemia and may cause the body to produce abnormally large red blood cells that cannot function properly.

Some of the reasons leading to B12 or Folate Deficiency can be:

Pernicious Anaemia where your immune system attacks healthy cells in your stomach, preventing your body absorbing vitamin B12 from the food you eat; this is the most common cause of vitamin B12 deficiency in the UK.A lack of these vitamins in your diet this is uncommon, but can happen if you have a vegan diet, follow a fad diet or have a generally poor diet for a long time Medicine certain medicines, including anticonvulsants and proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), can affect how much of these vitamins your body absorbs Vitamin B12 and folate deficiency are more common in older people, affecting around 1 in 10 people aged 75 or over and 1 in 20 people aged 65 to 74.

Vitamin B12 (or B9 commonly called Foliate) is a water-soluble vitamin that plays an important role in the production of your red blood cells. It also helps in maintaining the normal functioning of your brain and nervous system. It’s found in several foods including meat, fish, eggs, dairy products and some fortified breakfast cereals.
You need Vitamin B12 to help maintain your nerves’ myelin sheath. If you are deficient in vitamin B12 you can get symptoms that are similar to some of the symptoms of MS, such as fatigue, weakness, numbness or tingling and problems with memory.
B12 deficiency effects the body in a variety of ways, some of the typical indications are:
  • Extreme tiredness
