Description
An ancient herbal remedy for moderate joint and muscle pain.
Go deep in the Kalahari desert, and you’ll likely stumble upon Harpagophytum procumbens, a plant native to southern Africa more commonly known as “devil’s claw”, a genus of plants that get their name from their claw-like fruit. The San people of southern Africa have used the dried extracts from its root for centuries when treating a host of ailments. This incredible medicinal plant was introduced to Europe in the early 1900s as a treatment for pain and inflammation, and is still widely used for pain relief in Germany and France today.
Detoxify and support your body with a natural herb infusion
This species of devil’s claw is classed as a bitter herb, and it’s notoriously difficult to cultivate. In the wild, this bitterness serves to protect the plant as its taste helps it deter plant eaters and bacterial, fungal, and insect attacks. And although they may be an acquired taste, bitter herbs are good for us as well, acting as a digestive stimulant to promote good gut health, and supporting the liver in its detoxifying role.
This devil’s claw root comes as an infusion to make it more easily absorbed by the body than capsules. Pair it with sweeter herbal teas for a delicious and natural herbal remedy for arthritis, rheumatism, osteoarthritis, gout, kidney and liver health, ulcerative colitis, and more.
