Pau D’ Arco has been known by the natives of South America for over 1000 years. In 1968, the two Scottish Scientists A R Burne andR H Thomson at Aberdeen University published their research on the contents of Pau D’ Arco. They succeeded in identifying the very rare ingredient Lapachol. The American National Centre for Cancer Chemotherapy has proved Lapachol has a very strong healing effect on various cancers. Its molecular composition makes it uniquely suitable to induce strong biological activities against cancer.
The American scientists Dr James Duke, who works for the United States Department of Agriculture has investigated the toxicity of Pau D’ Arco by the LD-50 test. This showed so little toxicity that it is almost 10 times less toxic than coffee.
Ingredients per capsule
Pau d’Arco (Tabebula impeteginosa) powder 450 mg; Plant source capsule shell.
Pau d’Arco powder from the cold/dry pulverised inner bark extract of the Tahebvia Tree found in the Brazilian and Argentinean Rain Forest. Main active ingredient is lapacho.
Keep dry and away from children
May not be taken by children under 1 year old and during pregnancy, if advised by a professional health practitioner.
Usages
1 capsule each morning after breakfast and 1 capsule at bedtime as a maintenance programme. During treatment (1 month at least) double dose after first week. Maximum 6 capsules per day.
Rain Forest Heals
There are reports of medicinal uses of pau d’arco dating back to 1873. It is told a Brazilian father of a young daughter with terminal cancer contacted a wise man of a local native tribe. He supplied some bark from a tree which grew in the Brazilian Rain Forest. The daughter was told to drink a tea made from the bark and she was healed in a short time.
Dr Orlando del Santi, who was a Doctor in Santo Andre, heard about the girl and decided to try the tea on his brother, who had cancer. After he was declared free of cancer within a month, Brazilian Doctors became very interested and from 1960 onwards many South American doctors have used pau d ‘arco to treat various cancers.
In a trial in California in 1997, nine patients with various types of cancer were given Pau D ‘Arco capsules to take with food. In three of the cases, the cancer disappeared completely and there were no side effects.
