High blood cholesterol is linked to increased risk of Cardiovascular disease (CVD) – one of the main causes of death and disability in the UK. But according to the World Heart Federation, an estimated 80% of cardiovascular disease, including heart disease and strokes, is preventable.

There are two types of cholesterol: LDL, or “bad” cholesterol, which is directly linked to heart disease, and HDL, otherwise known as “good”, protective cholesterol. Too much of one cholesterol and not enough of the other is the greatest risk factor for heart disease, so it’s important to maintain a desirable ratio of the two through a healthy diet and lifestyle.

Preventing cholesterol absorption and plaque build-up in the arteries

We developed LoSterol to support – not replace – a healthy lifestyle, as a natural solution. Two key ingredients, Beta-sitosterol and allicin, work together to block the absorption of cholesterol from the diet. Bile is made from cholesterol, and when it has been used for digestion, it is usually reabsorbed and recycled in the body. Preventing the reabsorption of bile means the body has to make fresh bile for each meal, which uses up cholesterol that’s stored in the body.

Beta-sitosterol is one of many plant-derived sterol compounds that can reduce blood cholesterol. Its close chemical resemblance to cholesterol enables it to block cholesterol absorption by competitive inhibition.

Allicin exists naturally in garlic as a defence mechanism against microbes in the soil, thanks to its ability to inhibit bacteria and fungi reproduction and viral replication. There has been a lot of scientific interest in allicin and cholesterol.

Cholesterol can become sticky as the result of a chemical reaction that occurs between LDLs and free radicals. This can form plaque buildup that can narrow or block arteries. How to take LoSterol 90 capsules

For people with moderately raised cholesterol, we suggest taking one LoSterol capsule per day with meals. Do not chew – swallow capsules whole with a cold drink.

For people with a cholesterol level above 6.5 mmol/L, we suggest taking 2-3 capsules a day, spread between two doses. Do not chew – swallow capsules whole with a cold drink.

LoSterol may take a little longer to work than conventional medication, so a minimal three-month course is recommended before assessing its effectiveness.

Consult your doctor before using LoSterol if you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking any other medication.

Case Study

New UK research confirms significant cholesterol reductions using only LoSterol

In [date,year], volunteers from all over the UK were recruited to take part in an open diet-controlled study to see just how efficient LoSterol was at reducing cholesterol naturally.

All participants had raised cholesterol and had been advised to try and reduce the levels of this potentially harmful blood fat.

All volunteers were asked to either do a self-assessed cholesterol level using a standard cholesterol finger prick test, or to get their local GP to do a fasting cholesterol test. They were then asked to take up to three capsules a day for 42 days.

After the trial period, the volunteers’ cholesterol levels were retested. The graph above shows the results.

• ALL volunteers recorded a drop in total cholesterol whilst taking between 1 and 3 capsules every day
